A Time Line in the life of Evie Jean Meye/ Evelyn Pech-Vazquez
04/04/1981 Born in the wee hours of the morning in Boothe Memorial Hospital, Cleveland OHio(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Booth_Memorial_Hospital)
August 1985 move to Grandparents cottage on Lake Lee Ann (http://www.lakeleann.org/) , Jonesville MI (visit father every weekend back in Cleveland for the next 5 years)
1986 Start kindergarten at Hannover Horton Elementary, in Hannover MI (http://www.hhsd.k12.mi.us) However, the building I had has since been converted into school offices, so I hear.
Kindergarten is where I met my best friend Lindsey Jewells. After a year her mother remarried and Lindsy had to move. It was very traumatic to me (as you can guess since I still remember 20 some years later). I was scared that I wouldn't know anyone in first grade, she was supposed to be in my first class. The next time I saw her was at a playdate at my house. Her new stepdad had dropped her, her sister Heather and preteen (teen ? ) step sister off at my house for a playdate. My sister Beth's friend Jan was there as well, and I deliberately ignored Lindsy and played with Jan and Beth. I was just so angry she was leaving me. I remember her crying thinking I didn't like her any more. That's a regret I've carried with me since then.
1987 First grade at Hanover Horton , Meet best friends Lauren Rigge (Clarke), (soon to be World famos Rock Star), Jenifer Royalty, and Ashley Koebel.
1989 Trip to Canada to meet Grandmother's cousins, George Reeves, Rose Reeve both in their 90's at the time.
1990 move to Prattville MI attended school in Waldron Michigan, http://waldron.k12.mi.us/)
1994 ? Start Homeschooling with sisters From Carol Bishop's "Christian Side Country" school (We only went there on testing days)
1995 Return to Waldron
1996 Return to homeschooling after begging my mother for a year.
1997 Return to Waldron with foreign exchange student Ruth Nina Marsilina from Indonesia
1998 Graduate high school give up going to American University in Paris ( Lack of funds to say the least)
Fall 1998 start Jackson Community College ( I had the best French, Art and Poly Sci teacers !)

A book and a napkin (Continuation to In the beginning)
I was very excited about the book. We decided we better exchange phone numbers ,so I could return when I was finished reading. Enrique searched the kitchen for a pad of paper and came up with a white napkin with red hearts , he wrote my number on it and I programmed his in my cell phone (which by the way was huge compared to the ones today!)Two days later Enrique called me asking if I liked movies, I said yes and met him in Adrian( 40 minutes away) around 1pm. We went straight to the theater where I discovered he hadn't checked a head of time and there were no movies playing for another hour and a half. He suggested we go to a park and walk around for a while. We lost track of time and 3 hours later had miss the beginning of all the movies for the next hour and a half.
Although I had a great time I had to much going on in my life and told Enrique (after he invited me out a second time) that I didn't think we should see eachother again.
However, I still had his book, and after driving back to Adrian to return it, God changed my heart, a month later we were engaged, 7 months later we got married (May 18th, 2002)!

In the beginning

Thank you Beth for starting This part of the blog : )
Labor Day 2001, what was supposed to be just another barbeque turned into the beginning of Pech family history.
Enrique and I had a mutual friend (who was actually introduced to me, by my boyfriend at that time) who insisted on us meeting. She and her mother had talked about an arrangement for several weeks but it wasn't until September 1st that the opportunity arrose.
I'll let Enrique write his side later but what I knew was that my friend called him at the last minute and Enrique said he'd "stop by".
My first impression was that he was timid, but I loved it because he listened to everything I said and talked a lot himself after a while ( Though, In a very heavy accent : ). I loved hearing about The Yucatan (which he pronouced Ju-Ka-Tahn) and his little home town of Muna, his family of six brothers and one sister, his CHI-CHI NE (Grandmother Enelia) and his mischevious boyhood adventures. He had the tenderness of my Grandfather Muntz in his eyes and told stories like my father.
At the end of the evening ,after charcoling the meat in the barbeque (yes we forgot to check on it) and talking for 4 hours , he left me with a book on the Yucatan.
If it hadn't been for that book, I would have never seen him again... To be continued.
